Take a seat! Tips for Purchasing Seat Pads

One thing is sure: Once we’re sitting down at home, we want to be comfortable! That’s what seat pads are for. However, what’s up for discussion is which type of seat pads best fit your style and preferences. We can show you how to find the perfect seat pads for your home!

Type of seat pads

  • Seat cushions: They can be placed on chairs or on benches, side by side. Seat cushions are available in different thicknesses, from flat to padded. You can also choose between round and angular seat pads, to get the perfect fit for your respective seating surface. Tip: Don’t forget to take precise measurements before deciding on a purchase!
  • Seat pads for seating with high or low backrests: For chairs or benches with backrests, as well as deckchairs, we have comfy seat pads, that not only give your tushy a cushy place to sit, but also your back a nice place to rest. Seating with low backrests is usually 38 to 40 inches high and reaches up to your shoulders. Seating with high backrests is about 7 to 8 inches higher and provides a soft resting place for your head. Tip: To avoid sliding seat pads on benches, fasten them with velcro. Chair cushions often come with attached ties, that can be tied behind the backrest.

Seat pad material

  • Leather seat pads in earthy tones and black look especially classy, but often a bit cold. They go best with minimalistic, modern interior design and metal seating furniture. Caution: Slip hazard!
  • Velvelt seat pads create a soft and comfy feel, especially in your living room or bedroom. Set a contrast to your white furniture with bright colors, like pink.
  • Felt or corduroy seat pads in retro colors, like seaform green or curry yellow, go especially well with vintage pieces.
  • Fabric seat pads score because they are easy to clean and come in many colors. In addition their covers can often be removed and washed, so they’re perfect for the kitchen.

Tip: Seat pads for outdoor furniture should be fade-resistant, so they hold up in the sunlight. Water-restistant material protects against bad weather, but your best bet is still to get your seat pads into the dry, before it starts pouring.

As long as you pay attention to the form of your seating surface, you can’t go wrong purchasing seat cushions. Seating with high or low backrests is the deluxe version and provides your back or head with some extra support. If you want to use your seat pads on the patio or outdoors, make sure they can handle sunlight and rain.

Your new seat cushions or seat pads for seating with high or low backrests, will definitely add to the comfort of your home!
