7 fashion aesthetics for men and how to style them for 2025

It’s not always easy to find your style. With so many trends and aesthetics floating around, how do you know which one is right for you? That’s where we come in. We’ve scoured the streets (mostly TikTok if we’re being honest…) to bring you seven of the coolest fashion aesthetics for men for 2025 and how you can style them in your way.

What is Blokecore? The fashion aesthetic has been picking up steam over the past couple of years. The hashtag #blokecore on TikTok has 94.2 million views as of October 2024.

One of the unofficial mascots of this men’s aesthetic has been the European soccer player, Héctor Bellerín, whose style is characterized by loose-fitting jeans, vintage soccer jerseys, and classic Adidas sneakers.  The name is derived from the British term “bloke”,  and is inspired by the soccer fan culture popular in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s.

How to style it: The go-to look is usually a vintage jersey or zip-up track jacket styled with a pair of baggy Levi’s. You can also wear a cool pair of track pants, but pair it instead with a chic hoodie or polo to avoid looking too sporty. Adidas Sambas or Gazelles are also the shoes to wear with the trend.

What is Eclectic Grandpa? 2024 was the year of the grandpa, but the aesthetic isn’t showing signs of slowing down in 2025.

In case you need a refresh, the trend derives from the ever-increasing interest in vintage style and thrift hauls: retro streetwear, chic cardigans and relaxed silhouettes are the name of the game. Gender-neutral and highly customizable, the new aesthetic has experienced great popularity last year, and we predict that it’ll keep growing.

How to style it: Invest in a few statement pieces that can be worn with a variety of outfits.  A good example is tassel loafers—honourary grandpa and rapper Tyler, the Creator is often seen sporting these. Other key pieces are tweed blazers, chunky and colourful cardigans, and a good pair of high-waisted chino pants.

What is Workwear/Carpentercore? Carpentercore is definitely one of the more niche microtrends we’ve spotted, but it’s 100% worth mentioning.

This men’s aesthetic is all about everyday basics that you can easily mix and match for (almost) endless styling options, and that’s why we love it.  Workwear has now become cool enough for streetwear, and it’s safe to say that we dig it! Brands like Carhartt or Levi’s are the ones to shop for.

How to style it: The trend usually consists of workwear basics like cargo pants or the typical Carhartt trucker jackets. For 2025, we’re seeing a rise in the popularity of raw denim, as well as workwear coveralls. To keep it more “hip street-style” and less “ready for my shift at the lumber yard”, pair workwear pieces with crisp white t-shirts, knitted polos, or cool, low-top sneakers.

What is the Softboy aesthetic? From Harry Styles to Evan Mock, some of the most well-dressed celebs belong to this men’s aesthetic.

In recent years, we’ve seen fashion become less restricted by stereotypical gender norms, which has allowed men and boys to explore their soft, romantic sides. And even though the aesthetic originated back in 2022 it’s still going strong, with men’s nail polish and jewellery having a moment right now.

How to style it: The classic Softboy uniform is a pair of loose-fit jeans and a baggy pullover with a collared button-up underneath. Don’t forget accessories—style your outfit with a few chunky necklaces and painted nails in an abstract design, or some brightly coloured shades.

What is Modern Minimalism? If you like to keep it simple, this aesthetic is for you. When getting dressed in the morning starts to feel more and more like a math equation, going for a look that is as fuss-free as it is sleek is the solution.

Modern Minimalism is simple and clean, yes, but never boring. Perfectly tailored pieces, modern silhouettes, and clean lines are hallmarks of this aesthetic. Premium, high-quality materials are also a must: minimalism also means investing in long-lasting pieces that will stand the test of time.

How to style it: Classic and simple pieces are the foundation of Modern Minimalism. Think well-fitting white t-shirts, collared leather jackets, and luxurious leather sneakers. Your trousers should fit you perfectly, but can have a bit of structure to them: wide straight-leg jeans or barrel-leg trousers add the “modern” to Modern Minimalism.

What is Country-boy Grunge? The angsty, nihilistic, anti-authority aesthetic pioneered by Kurt Cobain and Nirvana thirty years ago is still going strong in 2025, but with a new spin.

The grungy feel of today is mixed with “redneck” symbols, both in the US and elsewhere: mullets, woodland camo print, and tactical sunglasses are all part of the Deep South Grunge look.

How to style it: The first rule of this aesthetic is that you must always wear at least one camo print item. This hillbilly-meets-rockstar aesthetic pairs really well with grunge and rock staples like distressed baggy jeans and vintage leather jackets. Leather boots are the perfect choice of footwear, and a pair of sunglasses you’d only see on an alligator tour guide completes the look.

What is European chic? If you’ve ever visited the Old World, you might’ve noticed that many European men seem to be particularly fond of two things: scarves and tiny little cardigans. Our favourite European it-boys, Timothée Chalamet and Paul Mescal, share this passion.

Call it going back to his French roots or call it method dressing for the A Complete Unknown press tour, but Timothée has been using scarves of all sorts—pashminas, skinny scarves, extra-long scarves, even sweaters worn as scarves—to add coziness and refinement to his usual baggy, NYC-inspired street style looks.

After singlehandedly bringing back tiny little gym shorts for men, Paul Mescal has now become the poster boy for another tiny little piece of clothing: cardigans. The Irish actor loves light, delicate, and slim-fitting cardigans, which he pairs with equally slim, wide-neck t-shirts, slacks, and even suits.

How to style it: As Chalamet and Mescal go to show, adding some European chicness to your day-to-day looks couldn’t be easier. A scarf paired with an oversized bomber and loose-fitting jeans will not only keep you cozy, but also will add a nice bit of friction—the secret ingredient for every great outfit. Fitted cardigans, on the other hand, can be easily paired with both formal trousers or wide-leg jeans for a romantic touch (and, if you look like Paul Mescal, show off your physique).
