Canada’s most beautiful wedding destinations
As one of the most diverse and beautiful countries in the world, it’s not surprising that Canada is home to a bounty of beautiful and unique wedding destinations. From coast-to-coast, these five northern venues are some of the most interesting in the country. Believe us, your guests won’t be disappointed.
Fairmont Château Lake Louise
With towering snowy mountain tops and a turquoise, glacier-fed lake in the background, it’s no wonder that the Fairmont Château in Lake Louise, Alberta is one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in Canada. A two-hour drive from the closest international airport, Lake Louise is home to one of Canada’s longest ski seasons and the Château itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as the “Diamond in the Wilderness“, the Fairmont Château in Lake Louise not only offers breathtaking views and photo-ops but world-renowned activities for guests braving a long-haul flight for your big day.
Fogo Island Inn, Newfoundland and Labrador
Sitting on an island off an island, the Fogo Island Inn is truly a one-of-a-kind venue for a northern wedding. At the edge of the North Atlantic, the 29-room inn has dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the wild, unruly ocean. Located in Joe Batt’s Arm, Newfoundland, the venue has capacity for 70 guests and depending on your wedding date, your near-and-dear will be dazzled by the inn’s offerings, including whale watching, stargazing, and boat tours off the coast.

The Distillery District, Toronto
Toronto’s Distillery District is a historical neighborhood in the heart of Canada’s busiest city. It was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1988 and at one time was the world’s largest distillery. Today it’s a pedestrian-only zone and minutes away from Toronto’s most famous landmarks, including the CN Tower and the Toronto Waterfront. Weddings can be held in a number of historic venues throughout the District, including the Arta Gallery and The Fermenting Cellar, a unique space dating back to 1861.

Hôtel de Glace, Québec
If you’re already sweating picturing a tropical destination wedding, Québec’s historic Hôtel de Glace could be your ideal icy venue. Made entirely of snow and ice, the frozen venue does have its decided limitations; if you were hoping for a summer wedding, the hotel is only open from January until March. But if you and your guests aren’t afraid of a little chill (and have seen Frozen a time or two) the Hôtel de Glace will be a once in a lifetime experience for everyone involved.
