We’re in love! The ‘lovecore’ trend is here to stay
Unless you’re one of the lucky-in-love who celebrated an engagement or said ‘I do’ via a mico wedding last year, we’re sure we can all agree the overall vibe of 2020 wasn’t something you’d soon describe as ‘cutesy’ or ‘romantic’. And whether in response to this lack-of romance or the overwhelming number of aesthetic TikTok videos, the ‘lovecore’ trend has emerged and we’re not one bit mad about it.
Much like its ‘cottagecore‘ counterpart, ‘lovecore’ is the brainchild of nostalgia-loving TikTokers. Teeming with cutesy motifs and Valentine’s Day-themed color palettes, lovecore is a celebration of romance and the fanciful.
Standout lovecore styles include Lirika Matoshi’s viral strawberry dress and the brand’s pink and red Hearty spaghetti strap dress.
To achieve the lovecore trend, designs abundant in hearts, lips, flowers, and polka dots should be sought. Anything pink and red is advised and like the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit, the more frills the better.
