Instagram is buzzing with under-the-radar influencers. And while it’s easy to get lost in the Kendall Jenner’s and Aimee Song’s of the app, it’s the accounts without the backings of major beauty or editorial campaign that we most enjoy. For authentic inspiration, these are the cool Instagram girls we turn to.

Deba (not Debbie!) is the quintessential cool London girl. The Kurdish influencer started modeling in 2018, after sending her headshots to Anti-Agency almost as a joke. Since then, she’s been serving effortless, Y2K-inspired looks and smashing Euro-centric beauty standards.

Formally known as Gabrielle Richardson, she’s a model, artist, and activist. She’s one of the co-founders of Art Hoe Collective, a submission-based art gallery focusing on queer POC experiences, and the founder of the Brown Girl Butterfly Project, which aims to “create a community of black and brown women and non-binary folks through healing, nurture, and soft protest”.

Love or hate her, it’s undeniable that Clara Perlmutter, aka @tinyjewishgirl, is a TikTok icon. Sharing her maximalist, unique, and polarising outfits on the video-sharing platform has gained her a huge following. On Instagram she shares snapshots of her life in NYC.

Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, is a bit of an accidental superstar. After her Miu Miu and Batsheva Inauguration ensemble went viral, she was signed by IMG Models and walked many shows during NYFW. A graduate from Parsons School of Design, she’s also a knitwear designer.

Not only is Hodan Yousuf’s style enviable, but it also shows that dressing modestly doesn’t have to come at the expense of personal style. A devout Muslim and hijabi, Hodan thrifts 90% of her clothes, and her personal aesthetic gravitates towards 80s influences,  menswear, and street style. She was even featured on Vogue!

Edie Rose has been modeling since she was 10, so it’s safe to say she’s a pro by now. Born and raised in Camden, London, she effortlessly represents the city’s contemporary and eclectic spirit through her personal style.
