Like fashion, beauty trends tend to come and go. Fashion changes with the seasons, what’s popular in beauty seems to stick around a little longer with only slight adjustments along the way.

Thinking back to 2018, eyelash extensions, orange eyeshadow, lip fillers, over-lined lips, harsh contouring and blinding highlight were some of the most popular trends. But what’s going away for good in 2019? Here are 4 things that are not in style…for now.

1. Lip-fillers: When Kylie tried to make the world believe that her lips were natural, most of us didn’t buy it. It was then clear she was certainly getting fillers and so, the world followed! Dramatic plump lips became a common feature for many beauty-lovers who chose to jump on Kylie’s bandwagon. Now, lip fillers are slowly making their way out of our lives and Kylie claims she completely dissolved hers.
2. Overlined Lips: Those who couldn’t afford to get fillers, opted for the fan favourite overlined lip. This was usually done with a pinky nude by makeup lovers of all ages! Now, the trend is looking more closely at embracing our natural lip with a little bit of gloss or an ombre effect to achieve a plumper look.

3. Harsh Contouring: Contouring was never meant to be seen from a mile away, but it became that way due to its increasing popularity. Now, we’re back to soft contouring and natural bronzing.

4. Matte Everything: Remember a time when the beauty industry was obsessed with matte foundation, matte lipsticks and matte shadows? Not so much the case anymore. Glow-from-within, dewy looks are all the rage now. When opting for a matte foundation, many are choosing to add some glow drops or oils in there for some added glow! Lip glosses are back and almost as popular as they were in 2002 and wet, glowy shadow is all the hype!
