Back to Black: Why Black Jeans Are Better than Blue

Back to Black: Why Black Jeans Are Better than Blue

Ask any sartorially savvy person and they’ll tell you that a pair of blue jeans is an undeniable staple. While we do believe no closet is complete with them, we’re not always feeling blue. Sometimes, black is just better.

Seemingly edgy in nature, black jeans are just as important as their blue counterparts. Before you browse for a pair, we’ll tell you why:

Ditch the Diet

Putting on blue jeans feels more like a workout than anything else sometimes. You jump around, wiggle and try to squeeze your way into them before giving up and grabbing a pair of leggings. With black jeans, you  can relax. Black is a slimming color, meaning it will look flattering on every body.

Stay on Top of Trends

The runways can call for glitzy sequins one season and tartan the next. Regardless, there’s one thing that will always be “in” and that’s black clothing. Forget what the thermometer says—there’s never a wrong time to wear black jeans. They’re cool when it’s cold, and when it’s warmer, a distressed pair with deliberately placed holes can heat an outfit up the right way.

Mix and Match Them

There’s a great reason why black is beloved by fashion fanatics far and wide. It is the ultimate wear-with-anything color. Granted, certain garments don’t wear well with others regardless of their hues, but black jeans complement any ensemble. And it doesn’t matter if they’re paired with a crop top or a button-down shirt—you’ll always look chic.

Don’t Take (Too Much) Care

Similar to blue jeans, the dye in black jeans can wear if you don’t care for them properly. Blue denim often requires pre-washing and other treatments to help the dye set in. For black denim, however, it’s best to wash them as little as possible to prevent fading. Every six months or so is ideal.

Forget what you’ve been told—black will always be “the new black.”  Add a pair of black jeans to your wardrobe and embrace the darkside.

Embrace black jeans when you aren't feeling so blue.
