Function beds are beds that also fulfil tasks of other furniture. Some can be used in place of a closet, and others can be used as a sofa. Here is everything you need to know about function beds and their uses.
For the bedroom
Function beds are a particularly good choice in bedrooms without much space. They are somewhat higher than traditional beds. You can use their bed boxes or drawers to stow bed linen, hand towels or clothes, thus eliminating the need for a large wardrobe. Some models even have an integrated shoe cabinet.
- Simple function beds: with a bed box under the folding slatted frame. Available at very reasonable prices (see, for example, models by Parisot Meubles).
- Upholstered beds: with a soft headboard and frame, as well as ample-sized bed boxes, comfortable for reading or watching TV in bed
- Premium function beds: for example, by Mooved, have drawers of different sizes and compartments on several sides of the bed
For the guestroom
A function bed is very practical if you often have guests. You don’t necessarily need a separate room for it. Because they are so versatile, these beds can be used for your guest almost anywhere in your home.
- Folding beds: can be hidden away again when they are no longer needed for sleeping
