Floral prints experienced their fashion peak in the 90s. In the last few years these girlish patterns have once more been blossoming into the favorite theme of designers. Flowers are especially shown to advantage on bags. Whether it’s tropical vines on men’s backpacks or a romantic millefleurs print on a clutch, we’re sure about one thing: bags with floral patterns will survive long in the fashion world! Here Stylight shows you four variations and what to wear them with.
1. Gym sacks
Floral patterns give the otherwise plain drawstring bag a colorful upgrade. The rest of the outfit should be kept simple: casual jeans, a single-colored sweater or T-shirt with a V-neck are good choices. A baseball style T-shirt also goes well in the sporty look. Floral prints are also suitable for men: their best options for such gym sacks are the ones with large, abstract flower designs.
2. Evening bags
In order for your bag to remain the focus of your outfit, opt for a single-colored look. Ideally you should go for the little black dress, or a simple bandeau, sheath or mini dress in other colors. Feel free to go all out with your floral-patterned bag: additional sequins, playful fringes or decorative stones are fully allowed with your striking print.
3. Backpacks
Bags with floral patterns come in all shapes and sizes: from backpacks with graphic floral prints to swirly hippie designs. You can complete the summer look with a pair of denim shorts and a bold motto T-shirt. Men should wear flower-patterned backpacks made of light materials and combine them with chino Bermudas or a single-colored short sleeve shirt.
4. Totes
The floral tote is for the true flower child: with it you can reveal twice as much flower power. Wear it with pants in a clean cut like jeans or chinos in neutral colors like navy, gray or blue, and a top with a floral print. Your top can have a similar pattern to that of your tote, or you can choose a print that stands in contrast with it.
If you enjoy taking fashion risks, show your courage with a stylish mix of patterns: wear your floral-print bag confidently with a striped T-shirt and skinny jeans, and your hair pulled back from your face in a sporty ponytail.
