The renowned Cannes Film Festival is coming to an end. After a whole year of cancelled events, the stars have finally been able to walk the red carpet once again, showing off noteworthy outfits. As always, celebrities use this event to showcase some of their most elegant and extravagant looks, however this year some of the biggest fashion it-girls have chosen to wear vintage or eco-friendly clothes for the occasion – we are talking about Chiara Ferragni, Camille Charriere and Bella Hadid. Chiara wore a dress by Giambattista Valli where the silver details were made with recycled aluminum from Nespresso capsules. Camille and Bella, on the other hand, opted for vintage looks. The former wore a 2001 Dolce & Gabbana (yes, 20 years ago) while the latter chose a 2002 Jean Paul Gaultier dress for the opening night, and both showed us how these red carpet pieces were more current than ever. Thanks to these fashion icons, the message of making fashion more sustainable is continuously growing and on Stylight we saw how searches for eco-friendly products have increased by +49% since 2020 and on Google, users’ interest in searching for “vintage dresses” has increased by 25% after the start of the Cannes Film Festival to date.
