With the summer months approaching, a new aesthetic has started to gain popularity. Inspired by the Y2K surfer girl, the “Coconut Girl” style is playful, colorful, and youthful – think Hawaiian shirts, wrap skirts, chunky flip flops, halter tops, bright coral oranges, pastel pinks and beachy accessories. Reminiscent of the California cool girls from 00’s TV favorites like The O.C or Blue Crush, it’s no wonder that the “Coconut Girl” has been taking over TikTok, Pinterest, and Instagram – likely due to the carefree, lighthearted, and optimistic vibe it evokes. On Stylight* we’ve seen an increase in clicks on some of the “Coconut girl” must-haves: +200% on Hawaiian prints, +47% on shell jewelry, and  +17% on wrap skirts. And in going along with the beachy theme, we’ve also seen an increase in clicks in summer skin care brand Hawaiian Tropic (+82%) and surf-style brand Billabong (+28%).
