Known the world over for their iconic and instantly recognizable range of work boots, Dr. (Doc) Martens was established in 1945 by German inventor Dr. Klaus Martens who wanted to create a comfortable working shoe. Dr. Martens: Beyond the Punk
Dr. Martens boots were invented in 1945 by a military doctor with an injured foot. Rueing the pain and discomfort brought on by rigid army boots, he conceived of a boot that would solve these problems by introducing a springy, oil-and-water-resistant sole. The boots would go on to become popular among punks and rock-and-rollers, but the brand is so much more than the favorite of Johnny Ramone and Sid Vicious.

Low-Cut
Where the 8-eyes are bold and rambunctious, Dr. Martens’ low-cut shoes are discreet and subtle. They’re refined enough to replace even your stuffiest oxfords, and make a beautiful pairing with the chinos and khakis that the original high-tops can overwhelm.
