So how does one get the most out of a more modest wardrobe? By a little layering and impromptu tailoring, of course. Push your clothes to its limits with these styling rules.
Cuff & Roll
Go ahead and wear today’s jeans tomorrow. Rolling the cuffs transforms day-old denim and solves ill-fitting hems. Apply the same concept to the sleeves of layered jackets and tops for a messy finish.
Conventional: Roll up the sleeves of a layered button up and sweater.
Unconventional: Fold the cuff of your denim to expose a stocking-clad leg.
Peek-a-Boo
Let your layered pieces peek out by pairing them with sheer or shorter garments. The strategically-stacked look brings a clean contrast of colors and textures.
